Galway Bar and the Kilarney House

It's the happiest hour of the day! Check back every Thursday to find out what great happy hour specials local restaurants are offering.

This week's Happy Hour special is a little different than others—instead of sharing with you a great happy hour special, I want to bring attention to some cool new drink at a couple local bars. The local Irish Restaurant Company, which owns Galway Bay, The Killarney House, and Brian Boru (in Severna Park), is selling  Irish Eggnog, what is supposedly an old Irish recipe that blends alcohol, spices, and Irish cream. Try out a "Nutty Nog," with Frangelica, egg nog, and Van Gogh Dutch Caramel, or a "Frosty Nog" with Patron XO Cafe, Van Gogh Dutch Caramel, and Egg Nog, chilled and served up in a sugar-frosted glass. You can buy eggnog to take home for $20 a bottle.

I'm not ignoring happy hour completely. The restaurants also offer happy hour from 3:30-6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday with half-priced appetizers and discounts on house drafts and house wine. At Galway Bay and the Killarney House, burgers are $5 on Mondays, including chips, with $3 Yuenglings. At Brian Boru, burger night is Tuesday.
