Doctors Martha Sidlowski, Kristine Moreno, and Deborah Caruso belong to various dental study groups throughout the Annapolis area. Being up to date with the latest scientific discoveries about the growing connection between medicine and dentistry is of utmost importance to each doctor, enabling them to tailor treatment plans to each individual patient.

In addition to an ample supply of “old-fashioned” warmth and genuine concern, Chesapeake Cosmetic & Family Dentistry offers the latest in dental/medical technology, including the CEREC machine which is used to create all porcelain inlays, onlays and crowns, restoring teeth in one visit. The dentists utilize the Compudent Wand, a computerized anesthesia delivery system, which relieves the discomfort associated with injections. The practice also provides cosmetic restorations, tooth-colored composite fillings, and power whitening. The practice also utilizes a system of informative dental videos called Caesy, which are shown at the first visit. This educates the patient on comprehensive diagnoses versus just looking for cavities.

Dr. Sidlowski’s practice treats entire families. Helping the younger patients feel comfortable now leads to a future of good dental health, and the all-women staff is especially attuned to the needs of their younger patients. “We find creative ways to examine and clean a child’s teeth,” smiles Dr. Sidlowski. One three-year-old patient didn’t want to sit in the dentist’s chair for an exam. No problem. He was, however, willing to sit on his mother’s lap—and the exam went smoothly. “If necessary, I could hang upside down for five minutes to look in a youngster’s mouth,” says Dr. Sidlowski. “We’re building the foundation for a lifetime of dental care. We want our younger patients to be at ease with the environment and with us.”

The dentists at Chesapeake Cosmetic & Family Dentistry take their family-friendly message out into the community. During Children’s Health Month in February, they are often asked to visit kindergarten or other elementary school classrooms to spread their educational message of dental care and hygiene.
