MOSA offers the full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with an emphasis on dental implants, extractions (including wisdom teeth), bone grafting, cosmetics, oral pathology, facial reconstruction, and in-office intravenous sedation and general anesthesia.

The MOSA team has equipped their offices with state-of-the-art technology, including the latest in CT Scan 3-D radiology paired with the “Simplant” computer program which allows the surgeons to perform “virtual surgery” on a 3-D patient image prior to actual surgery.  This leads to shorter surgical time, decrease in pain and swelling, and a significantly more predictable surgical outcome.

The Crofton office is lead by Dr. Ziad Batrouni D.D.S. He lives in Annapolis with his wife and their two children. Dr. Batrouni earned his Dental degree from Northwestern University Dental School, and completed his internship and surgery residence in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital-Cornell University Medical Center. Dr. Batrouni is on staff at Anne Arundel Medical Center and is a clinical instructor at the Washington Hospital Center.

Dr. Batrouni cares deeply about his patients’ comfort and about maintaining outstanding communications with his patients’ dental care providers. “We believe that our field is unique and challenging, since it intersects both the dental and medical fields. We are well aware of the level of anxiety our patients can experience during their visit to the oral surgeon,” Dr. Batrouni says. “We have tailored our offices and trained our staff to ensure a smooth and comfortable experience. This starts with a thorough consultation visit, to put our patients at ease. We use advanced technology such as the Wand (computerized anesthesia delivery system), and the latest in Intravenous Sedation techniques to reduce the level of discomfort and anxiety,” he explains.

MARYLAND ORAL SURGERY ASSOCIATES provides over 100 hours of continuing education classes, lectures, and seminars each year. One of these continuing education meetings is a yearly all day Implant seminar whose proceeds go to a scholarship fund at University of Maryland Dental School named in memory of Dr. John Nespeca, a deceased member of the MOSA team. In some cases their doctors go into the general and specialty offices in the dental community to provide up to date medical lectures to doctors and their staffs.

The team at MOSA is happy to be a part of the Crofton/Annapolis community providing top quality Oral and Maxillofacial surgery. They suggest that all patients examine their highly interactive website at:
