Krissoff, who was born in Washington, D.C., is comfortable in the courtroom. He decided to study law after receiving his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland, College Park. He went on to graduate from the Maryland Law School and was admitted to the bar in 1979. “I’ve always had an affinity for the trial work,” Krissoff says. “It is especially gratifying to walk out of trial with a not guilty finding in a criminal case, a significant award of damages in a negligence matter, or a pleased client in a domestic proceeding.”

With over 30 years of experience and a concentration in criminal, traffic and juvenile defense, personal injury law, and domestic cases, Krissoff has spent a lot of his time in court throughout his career. In fact, it was during a murder trial where he met his wife of 25 years, Liz, who was the court reporter in the case and is now a teacher at Broadneck High School. “The Defendant wound up with only a manslaughter conviction and served about two years; I got the life sentence,” Krissoff quipped.

He has represented people in an array of cases, including felonies and misdemeanors (adult and juvenile), traffic matters, serious personal injury/accidents and domestic work, involving all aspects of separation, divorce, custody, support and protective order proceedings.

“Individuals confronted with legal issues and possible litigation can be easily overwhelmed. The most rewarding part of the practice is helping clients understand and successfully navigate their way through what is often an emotional and daunting process,” he says.

A longtime member of the Maryland State Bar Association, the Anne Arundel Bar Association and Maryland Criminal Defense Attorneys Association, Krissoff has also been trained and certified in mediation. That training has been particularly useful in advising clients as they go through either voluntary or court-ordered alternative dispute resolution, including mediation.

Krissoff prides himself on his straightforward manner and being able to draw upon a wealth of experience. After meeting with a client and gathering the basic facts, he tailors the approach to best suit the individual’s needs and goals. No two cases are exactly the same and one size doesn’t fit all when it comes to legal issues. Having the ability to forecast early on the most likely material issues in a case allows for the determination of the optimal strategy to be employed and solid settlements of those cases where a trial can and should be avoided.

Krissoff strives to help clients reach their reasonable goals in the most efficient and cost-effective manner while providing them with personal attention, responsiveness and accessibility.

He can be reached by e-mail at or calling his office at 410-266-1136.
