She chooses to practice as a solo practitioner so that she can give her clients the personal attention that they need and deserve. Although an aggressive and experienced litigator, Ms. Bereston’s relationships with, and reputation among other members of the Bar enable her to resolve the majority of her cases by settlement. She believes that, whenever possible, settlement is much preferable to litigation. Ms. Bereston recognizes the emotional trauma and financial effects of the break  up of a family. She does whatever is possible to minimize those adverse consequences by finding an appropriate resolution for her client outside the courtroom. If a case must go to trial, Ms. Bereston’s clients benefit from her extensive experience in handling family law cases in the courtroom. Ms. Bereston handles cases involving complex legal issues involving marital property, pensions, business and professional associations, Qualified Domestic Relations Orders, Family Law Appeals, as well as alimony, custody, and child support. Ms. Bereston was named a “Leading Lawyer,” as voted by her peers in What’s Up? Annapolis Magazine, 2009 and 2010, and named a Maryland “Super Lawyer”  by Law & Politics, as published in Baltimore Magazine in 2010 and 2011.
