Dr. Benderson has been involved with research in his field ranging from medical ethics to diabetic eye disease.  His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals including Archives of Ophthalmology.  He has also presented posters and papers at several international ophthalmology conferences.  Dr. Benderson is a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology, and a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.

Kristin Biggee, MD

Dr. Kristin Biggee graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Rochester, where she received a BA in Biology.  She obtained her doctor of medicine from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. Following a combined medical and surgical internship at Harbor UCLA Hospital in Los Angeles she completed her ophthalmology training at Georgetown University Hospital and Washington Hospital Center.  She specializes in general ophthalmology offering a range of services in cataract surgery, intra-ocular lens implantations, and laser treatments.  She also offers specialized care in the treatment and management of glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, intra-ocular inflammation, and eyelid diseases. Dr. Biggee has had a wide-range of research and teaching experiences in ophthalmology as well as in global health and development, medical ethics, and community health outreach.  She is also fluent in Spanish. Dr. Biggee is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, the American Medical Association and Phi Beta Kappa.
