Beginning in ninth grade, the accolades began to pour in for this 18-year-old senior, who hails from Salisbury. Winning the Christian Character Award for varsity softball in 2008, Lyndsey has also excelled at the net and was the South Bayside Player of the Year in volleyball in 2009, team MVP last season, and captain for two years. She’s also attending two schools, “Wi-Hi” and Wor-Wic Tech, a local community college, where she’s getting a jump start on her future, which she hopes will take place at Stevenson University in Owings Mills.

A National Junior Honor Society member and a regular on the honor roll, Lyndsey sports a 3.5 GPA, citing English and photography as her favorite classes, and plans to major in business communications when in college. “The hard work I’ve put into my sports and school work is paving the way to better opportunities for my future,” Lyndsey says. “I look forward to it.” She also enjoys painting, horseback riding, writing, and spending downtime with family and friends. The firstborn child of Mark and Katie Phelps, Lyndsey has a 16-year-old sister named Rachel and a brother, Stephen, who’s 12.
