Here’s the third installment in our series.
Scrap the idea of a place needing a woman’s touch…how about a man’s touch? According to HGTV’s and TLC’s Summer Baltzer, menswear -- especially the fabrics --will soon be coming to a sofa or chair near you!
“Home furnishings follow fashion very closely and they’re less than a season apart,” says Baltzer. “That being said, people are going to see a menswear influence in furniture this year. Furniture will be really refined; you’ll see classic styles – think “Ratpack” and the Frank Sinatra era -- such as box arm sofas and fabrics will be inspired by men’s suiting.”
That means we’ll be seeing a lot of herringbone, houndstooth, argyle, and pinstriped patterns. Ringing true to Baltzer’s words, this trend was prevalent at this spring’s High Point furniture market and may soon appear at a furniture store near you.
