West Street Business Association is pleased to announce the inaugural WESTFEST on Sunday, May 29th 2011 from 12 to 5pm.
Featuring music from 5 local bands, Inner West Street will be closed from Church Circle to Calvert Street for the family friendly free event. In addition to music, there will be a moon bounce and other vendors.
“West Fest is about bringing people together,” said Gavin Buckley, owner of Kapow Group, “All of our music has more things in common than we realize!”
The musical line up features local artists, with a diverse range of sound. From 12-1pm, Pandomonia, finalists of Nancy Algrem’s annual Battle of the Bands at Maryland Hall will warm up the stage. From 1-2pm, the Annapolis Chorale will participate in a collaboration with Future Money, featuring Annapolis musician Rob Levit on guitar. 2-3pm The Dirty Names plan to bring back the lost art of pure Rock and Roll with a modern twist. 3-4pm will feature Pompeii Graffiti, an up-and-coming indie rock band from Annapolis featuring Ahren Buchhesiter, Robin Eckman, Tyler Grimsely, Stephanie Leger and Cara Santin. And to wrap it up, Adam Ritchie, a rising country star from 4-5pm.
So bring your friends, bring your stroller, bring your dog and even bring your parents to celebrate West Street, the great city of Annapolis and the WESTFEST. “It’s going to be a great summer” says Buckley.
