Mayor Bestows Keys on New Homeowners

Nine new homeowners to receive keys from Mayor during ceremony-

When: Thursday, June 30, 2011 at 12 noon

What: Nine new Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake homes will be dedicated, attended by approximately 200 individuals including homeowners, family, friends, and dignitaries. (The public is invited.)

Where: Patterson Park (Baltimore Street, between Luzerne and Lakewood Avenues) in East Baltimore

Who: The new homeowners—Anita Ash, Tymeerah Butts, Sharon Cheatom, Gabrielle Davis, Tonya Hawthorne, Bernadette Lee, Joyce Robinson, Brittney Simmons, and Duanita Washington—will be receiving keys to their new East Baltimore homes from Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake and other dignitaries from Baltimore City and the State of Maryland during this festive dedication celebration.

Significance: Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake is helping hardworking families realize the dream of homeownership in Baltimore by providing affordable housing options in the City.
