Mid-Shore Pro Bonois offering a Legal Services Clinic

Wednesday, July 27
1:00 P.M. - 3:00 P.M.
Kent County District Court House, 2nd Floor
Cross Street, Chestertown

This clinic is free to anyone who wishes to attend. Please keep in mind that in order to attend, you must call for an appointment at 410-690-812.

During this appointment, clients will meet with a volunteer attorney to gain a better understanding of the legal issues they face and receive advice on how to proceed in order to resolve those issues. If you have questions about a specific matter, call to schedule an appointment

Mid-Shore Pro Bono is a non-profit 501(c) 3 organization that offers legal advice on a broad range of civil legal issues. The program's goal is to increase access to justice within the Mid Shore community by providing free limited legal advice in a clinic setting.

The Lemon Leaf Café will be holding a fundraiser for Court Appointed Special Advocates of Queen Anne's and Kent Counties

Heidi William DeFabritus and Christy Trapp will be featured in an "Evening of Song" on Sunday, August 7 at the Lemon Leaf Café, 117 South Cross Street, Downtown Chestertown

Seatings are at 5:30 PM and 7:30 PM. The $45 ticket includes a 3-course dinner and show. This three-hour introduction to QuickBooks will feature Heather Tinelli, a principal of Shore Accountants in Queen Anne's County and a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor.

Heather will demonstrate how QuickBooks can help save you money, enhance your financial management skills and improve your financial "peace of mind." Whether you are new to QuickBooks or an experienced user, you will appreciate Heather's insights and responsiveness to your questions.

This workshop is free and open to all who register. If you wish to explore QuickBooks in more detail after this workshop, Heather will offer follow-up training at a nominal fee.

Cast your vote for America's favorite Market!
Last year the Chestertown Farmers' Market was voted #1 for the State of MD!

American Farmland Trust holds the annual America's Favorite Farmers Markets™ contest to raise national awareness about the importance of buying fresh food from local farms and saving the farmland where it's grown. Market shoppers will vote to support their favorite farmers market starting June 1 at 12:00 PM until midnight on August 31, 2011. Participants can vote for as many participating farmers markets as they choose, but can only vote for each market once.

At the end of the contest, one small, medium, large, and boutique, farmers market will win the title of "America's Favorite Farmers Market" for 2011. The reward for the winning market in each category will be a shipment of No Farms No Food® totebags, a feature article on the award winning foodsite, and other prizes from our partners and sponsors.
