The competition is running in conjunction with one of the Network's newest shows, The Great Food Truck Race. If you go to this website before September 12, you can vote for Miss Shirley's as the best local food truck (there are two others in Maryland, and one in DC, but sadly, none near Annapolis ... we are sorely lacking the food truck culture in our city).

Here's the pitch Miss Shirley gives on the website:

Miss Shirley's Food Truck is gourmet Southern street food in Baltimore, Maryland. We are unique because we focus on a high end Breakfast, Brunch & Lunch menu options and impeccable service. Our vibe is fun, hip and service oriented! We believe in feel good food, outstanding service, and beautiful presentation. We should be America's favorite food truck because we have amazing Southern staples that we altered to please anyone. Our food is comfortable and appeals to everyone - comfort food! We have Southern hospitality and treat everyone like family because we are a family owned business. We want everyone to come back ya'll. Miss Shirley's features eclectic southern style cuisine with a Baltimore twist. We offer Miss Shirley's Gumbo (Andouille, Chicken, Shrimp, Crawfish Meat, Okra & Tomatoes served with Brown Rice), Sweet Potato Fries with Mango Ketchup & Citrus Aioli, Fried Green Tomatoes with Lemon-Herb Aioli & House Relish, Egg, Cheese & Applewood-Smoked Bacon on Ciabatta, Chicken 'N Waffles (Benne Seed Fried Boneless Breast of Chicken Pieces & a Honey Mustard Aioli Drizzle on White Cheddar-Green Onion Waffles with Peppadew-Jalapeno Butter), Buttermilk Pancakes, Fresh Blueberry Pancakes, The Alonsoville (Smoked Turkey, Brie, Granny Smith Apples, Sprouts, Mixed Greens, Tomato & Honey Mustard on Ciabatta), Hog Wild on a That's How We Roll (House-made Slow-Roasted Carolina Pulled Pork & Southern Coleslaw with Toasted Almonds, Mango BBQ Sauce on a Challah Roll), California Chicken "BLT" (Grilled Chicken, Applewood-Smoked Bacon, Tomato, Mixed Greens, Avocado & Citrus Mayonnaise on Ciabatta). Thank you!

If Miss Shirley's wins the competition, they will get $10,000 -- which they plan to donate to the United Way of Maryland. So while you're waiting for Annapolis' newest brunch spot to open ... get voting!
