There is no doubt about the power of an enchanting smile and there is no better substitute for replacing missing teeth than with dental implants! It is, therefore, no surprise that Dr. Cliff Walzer, Dr. Neil Sullivan, and Dr. Borek Hlousek have focused their practice on creating beautiful smiles and restoring healthy function to the teeth and jaws. By embracing the team approach to patient care, the doctors combine their diagnostic and surgical skills with the talents of restorative dentists to provide the optimum care that patients deserve. Of all the procedures they perform, the doctors have taken a special interest in the replacement of teeth with dental implants. With recent technological advances, Drs. Walzer, Sullivan and Hlousek obtain three-dimensional images of a patient’s jaw structure and virtually plan the positioning of dental implants on computers. Drs Walzer, Sullivan and Hlousek are all board certified — the highest accomplishment for a dental specialist. They have been voted every year by their peers as Top Dentists 2005-2010!
Dr. Walzer received his dental degree from Washington University School of Dental Medicine in St. Louis. He completed a one-year residency at the Albany Medical Center Hospital followed by a three-year residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Walzer donates his time and services to treat local patients in need through the Stanton Center and participates with a dental team in Panama, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua.
Dr. Sullivan received his dental degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Sullivan is a clinical instructor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Maryland Hospital where he teaches new implant techniques to residents-in-training. Dr. Sullivan founded and volunteers his oral surgery skills at the Stanton Center Free Dental Clinic which serves poor and underprivileged adults of Anne Arundel County.
Dr. Hlousek, a native of the Czech Republic, came to the U.S. to complete his education. He received his dental degree from Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia. Dr. Hlousek then completed his oral surgery training at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey where he received both his oral surgery certificate and his M.D. degree. Dr. Hlousek is a clinical instructor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Maryland Hospital.
Q: Why remove wisdom teeth?
A: Wisdom teeth are the last teeth to erupt within the mouth. When they align properly and gum tissue is healthy, wisdom teeth do not have to be removed. Unfortunately, this does not generally happen. Poorly positioned or impacted wisdom teeth can cause many problems including pain, infection and decay on the back of the second molars and crowding of the other healthy teeth. Early removal of problematic wisdom teeth is recommended to avoid such future problems and to decrease the surgical risk involved with the procedure. Our Oral Surgery Specialist team works closely with your dentist to insure a successful outcome and beautiful smile.
