Vernon Pediatric Dentistry practices what it loves by striving to fulfill three core principles: (1) all children and parents deserve to be comfortable in the office of Vernon Pediatric Dentistry, respected, and well informed when it comes to their child’s specific dental needs; (2) all children deserve the highest level of clinical, preventive and surgical dental procedures; and (3) all children deserve to reach the goal of a lifetime of exceptional oral health achieved through Doctor-to-patientand- parent education, preventive measures and clinical measures when needed. And, as a Pediatric Dental office, the entire office and team is devoted solely to treating children from birth through 18 years of age. From our child and teen inspired office décor, our art and play room, our movie selection and theatre room, our patients experience an atmosphere that is devoted to them…fun, comfortable and happy!
In order to achieve the principles set for her practice, Dr. Vernon spent years preparing herself. A Magna Cum Laude Graduate of Loyola University (1996), Dr. Vernon went on to earn her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Maryland, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude (2002). As the daughter of a Pediatrician, you might say it was in her blood to seek her Dental Residency and Specialization in Pediatrics. Dr. Vernon was selected into her Pediatric Residency in 2002, completing her multiyear Pediatric Dental Residency Program at the University of Maryland Baltimore College of Dental Surgery where she was awarded her Pediatric Dental Specialist Certificate in 2004. Her professional dream come true!
Continuing her professional pursuit, Dr. Vernon went on to become a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist, Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Vernon’s patients have voted her as a “Favorite Doc” in Chesapeake Family magazine (Pediatric Dentistry) and a “Top Dentist” in What’s Up? Annapolis magazine (Pediatric Dentistry). Humbled by her patients’ and referring Doctors’ trust, Dr. Vernon strives to consistently provide exceptional individual Pediatric Dental care for her patients and continues to sharpen her skills through professional organizations including the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the Maryland Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Vernon adds, “my mother instilled in me a belief that as a Doctor, it is a privilege to treat and care for children and teens, and it is with this respect and love that I strive to bring my skill set to children and teens with the goal of setting in place a lifetime of exceptional oral health.”
Dr. Vernon built her new state-of-the-art practice in Severna Park in order to meet the growing needs for Pediatric Dentistry in Severna Park, Annapolis, Arnold, Pasadena, Glen Burnie and surrounding communities.
Dr. Vernon is married to Keith T. Vernon, Esq., an attorney in Washington, D.C, and together they are proud parents of three amazing children: Cameron, Madison and Coleton. Together the family enjoys the area’s many activities including the kids’ sports programs, the water, parks, museums, and Saint Mary’s Church and youth programs.
Q: Why worry about baby teeth if they are going to fall out anyway?
A: It’s important to achieve and maintain health in baby teeth. My goal as a pediatric dentist is to keep the baby teeth healthy to maintain function for eating, manage space for the developing adult teeth and ensure a healthy environment for those developing adult teeth. As a pediatric dentist, I strive to provide safe, comprehensive and compassionate care to your child to keep their baby teeth healthy. Healthy teeth are an integral part for a healthy body.
