Talbot Street in St. Michaels will be brimming with visitors, carolers, shoppers, and lots of winners on Saturday, December 3 for the 10th annual Midnight Madness town-wide event. Chances to win a Florida vacation and several giveaways—including six $1,500 gift baskets and a $1,000 St. Michaels shopping spree—will start being offered November 9 through participating St. Michaels merchants, and continued through December 3. Tickets are awarded through participating merchants to customers purchasing $10 or more in their shops November 9 through December 3.

Winners will be announced from the decks of Marco’s Restaurant beginning at 11:30pm on December 3. Participants must be present to win. Bed & breakfasts, inns, hotels, and merchants will issue double the tickets for overnight stays and purchases made on December 2 and 3.

The Florida vacation is donated by event sponsor, 107.1FM “The Duck” radio, who will be broadcasting live from 8-10pm during the December 3 event. The vacation package includes accommodations for 4 days/3 nights in Orlando, 2 days/2 nights in Daytona, and tickets for an off-shore gambling cruise for up to four people.

In addition to chances for prizes, Midnight Madness offers great sales to participants the entire day of the event, with shops open from 10am through midnight. “People from all over the mid-Atlantic come to St. Michaels year after year for Midnight Madness,” commented one of the event’s organizers, Brad Fout of Calico Toys & Games. “The town is beautifully decorated for the holidays, carolers are singing throughout town, and the sales are wonderful—it’s just a great way to shop for family and friends, and enjoy the holidays in our historic, waterfront town.”

St. Michaels will be adorned in colorful and festive Christmas holiday decorations, with each participating shop providing snacks, spirits, and sales while shoppers earn chances for the 11:30pm drawings. DJ Mark Savage will play holiday music from the decks of Marco’s Restaurant leading up to the midnight hour.

In addition to numerous prizes, the six gift baskets will be filled with gift certificates and items from shops, museums, bed & breakfasts, inns and hotels, retailing at $1,500 each. The $1,000 St. Michaels shopping spree includes certificates to be used throughout 2012 at any St. Michaels Business Association (SMBA) members’ establishment.
