Live Arts Maryland Lineup

Live Arts Maryland has a pretty full schedule in the upcoming months. As usual, they've packed the holiday season with performances, and are following it up with a few stellar performances.

This Thursday and Friday, the organization presents A Celebration of Christmas with the Annapolis Chorale, the Annapolis Chamber Orchestra, and the Annapolis Youth Chorus. Together, these groups will bring back this musical Annapolis tradition. At A Celebration of Christmas, they'll strive to combine thoughts for the season, holiday spirit, and, of course, some great holiday music. Tickets to the event are $45 with $15 student tickets available, and can be purchased here.

Next weekend, they'll be at it again, bringing Handel's Messiah to St. Anne's Church in Annapolis. There, the Annapolis Chorale Chamber Chorus, the Annapolis Chamber Orchestra, and a quartet of world-class soloists, including soprano Brandi Sutton and baritone Shouvik Mondle, will combine forces to bring this seasonal classic to life.

And, for added coolness, the Saturday concert will be performed by candlelight, featuring segments of Messiah's Part I and moving carols celebrating the Nativity. To purchase tickets, priced between $12 and $17, visit Marylandhall.org.

In February, Live Arts Maryland will present Broadway In Annapolis, and bring Cole Porter's Anything Goes to Maryland Hall on the 10th and 11th. The musical will feature the talents of the Annapolis Chorale, the Annapolis Chamber Orchestra, and a cast of guests artist. Tickets can be purchased here.

And, on the first weekend in March, the Annapolis Chorale will perform Bach's Mass in B Minor for the first time in the group's history. This piece features some of Bach's most famous, and arguably most beautiful, work. Tickets for the performance are available here.
