Start Wearing Purple

Every time the team makes it to this stage in the game (forgive the pun), Baltimore goes purple. The downtown area changes its lights so that prominent buildings are bathed in the color, and the Ravens’ logo starts popping up just about everywhere.

And, it’s not just city offices that go plum. As part of the Show Your Purple Pride Challenges, local companies are invited to show their support for the Ravens by lighting their buildings in purple, hanging Ravens banners, and letting their employees wear the team’s gear.

Now, I could continue to talk about this, but this might be a case where pictures really are worth a thousand words. To see some, check out the images below and for complete pictures of this year’s logo painting head to this album on the organization’s Facebook page.

If you’re a Ravens fan, it’s definitely worth checking out. If nothing else, it’ll definitely get you pumped up for that January 15th game. And, if you happen to favor the Redskins, just consider this a friendly warning that you might want to take precautions to avoid the city for a while.

Either way, stay tuned for the February issue, where our Food Editor, Kelsey Casselbury will give you some football fan-approved recipes in time for the big day—the Super Bowl.
