Using Hippocrates as inspiration, Middleton Gardiner Group has adopted their own variation of the Hippocratic Oath as part of their core philosophy: “To prescribe regimens for the good of our clients according to our ability and our judgment, attempting to never do harm.” They believe success is working toward a rate of return that helps their clients achieve their goals—whether that goal is a comfortable retirement, an estate to pass on to heirs, or the preservation of wealth. This philosophy keeps them focused on their clients’ bottom lines instead of only responding to the market’s gyrations.

Founded in 1988 as an independent investment advisory firm, Middleton Gardiner Group was reestablished as a full-service, fee-only advisory firm in 2003. Their clients are served by a team of professionals with over 60 years combined experience:

Jay C. Middleton, ChFC®: Earning his Chartered Financial Consultant designation in 1985, Jay is a cross-trained financial expert with a comprehensive knowledge of key financial planning disciplines, including insurance, income taxation, retirement planning, investments, and estate planning. Middleton Gardiner Group operates in a transparent structure that puts their clients first. As a fee-only advisory firm, they accept no commissions and sell no investment products. Instead, they earn their fees based on the value of their clients’ assets under management. They understand that each of their clients has different goals and comfort levels for attaining those goals. As a result, their clients’ portfolios are invested in a diversified blend of strategies designed to fit their specific tolerances resulting in unparalleled customized and personal service.

In addition to investment management services, Middleton Gardiner Group offers project-based and comprehensive financial planning services. Regardless of which service their clients select, they are avidly committed to serving their needs. By maintaining a personal connection, they are able to secure an intimate relationship best suited to truly achieving their clients’ goals.

Q: How do I know I am on track during retirement?

A: Don’t compare your performance to the market. Sit down with a professional who can analyze your needs and goals in more detail and use this assessment to determine how your assets should be invested. This way, you only take on the risk necessary to meet your needs on an inflation-adjusted basis.- Jay C. Middleton, ChFC
