Going to be in Annapolis? Head to Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts. There, Live Arts Maryland will present another of its "Broadway in Annapolis" productions. This year, the group takes on Cole Porter's rollicking comedy "Anything Goes."
Set on a cruise ship sailing the high seas, the multi Tony Award-winning romantic comedy will feature the talents of conductor J. Ernest Green, members of the Annapolis Chorale, The Annapolis Chamber Orchestra, and a cast of accomplisehd singer/actors.
The production takes place on Friday and Saturday, and tickets range between $15 and $40.
If, however, you're going to find yourself on the Shore, consider taking a trip to Cambridge.
The town will hold its annual Second Saturday festivities this weekend, and promises to pack in some romantic punch for Valentine's Day. In addition to restaurants, late shopping hours, live music, and free gallery receptions, Cambridge is hosting a special event, "High Heel Race Down Race Street."
The event, which benefits breast cancer research, will pit men and women, all in high heels, against one another. Prizes will be awarded, including those for the highest heel and the most creative attire. The race kicks off at 5:30 p.m. Second Saturday festivities last until 9 p.m.
Feeling like foraying into Baltimore or D.C? Take your sweetie to the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra's A BSO Valentine.
With performances at the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall and at the Music Center at Strathmore, you'll have several chances to celebrate the holiday with gifted pianist Tony DeSare. DeSare will display his trademark romantic style as he performs American Songbook standards such as "Moon River," "Fly me to the Moon," "and "Might and Day."
Tickets can be purchased at the BSO's website.
