I watched this video and ached. Not because it looks dangerous, or even frightening. But because it is only February.
A group of students from the Rosensteil School of Marine and Atmospheric Science at the University of Miami have put together a small collection of short films shot entirely on GoPro cameras, familiarly referred to as HeroCams. Waterlust, the first video in the series, aims at educating viewers in the beauty of marine sports with the hope of inspiring both active participation and conservation.
Patrick Rynne, the film's creator, says "Whether I'm out catching a wave or working through an equation, I can't help but feel as if things are out of my control. Then I remind myself that if everybody thought like that, nothing would ever change! The Waterlust project is an attempt to get people to see the beauty of water...to inspire the audience to consider their aquatic relationships."
Mission accomplished. Can April 1 get here already?
