Spicy Crab Scampi

Serves 6

8 ounces jumbo lump crabmeat
1 pound angel hair pasta
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 tablespoon olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (or to taste)
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice2/3 cup dry white wine1 green onion, choppedSalt and pepper to taste½ cup fresh Parmesan cheese, gratedOptional: half-pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
Cook the pasta according to package directions. Drain, reserving ½ cup of pasta water, and set aside.

Heat the butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the garlic and sauté briefly until it’s just slightly golden. Add the red pepper, lemon juice, and white wine. Bring to a boil, and then reduce the heat and simmer for two to three minutes. Fold in the crabmeat and green onions, and seasons with salt and pepper to taste.Combine the sauce and pasta in a large serving dish. Add reserved pasta water to dish if there’s not enough liquid (or add additional wine or chicken broth). Season with salt and pepper to taste.
