• A new restaurant, Big Rod, is now open in the former spot of Bella Luna on Route 33 in St. Michaels. The owner, Lorna Greene, is a native of the town and is offering classic Shore dishes, including crabs, as well as Floridian and Caribbean-influenced fare. For more information, call 410-745-8692.

• In September, a new bakery is scheduled to open on Race Street in Cambridge. Elliot's Baking Company will sell artisan breads and rolls, as well as desserts such as cakes, pies, biscotti, scones, and muffins. The store will also prepare and sell gourmet coffee and specialty lattes and cappuccinos. • General Tanuki's in Easton recently closed, but is rumored to be reopening in Cambridge in the near future. Unfortunately, I don't have much more information right now, but stay tuned because I'll update as soon as I hear more.
• Capriotti's Sandwich Shop is scheduled to open at 106 Marlboro Road in Easton in June. The casual eatery, known for its Thanksgiving-esque sandwich, The Bobbie, also has a location on Kent Island. Visit Capriottis.com.
