After learning the ropes in the mortgage industry, Bill decided to combine his years of professional experience in the financial industry with his natural leadership ability and join Academy Mortgage Corporation as a Loan Officer and Branch Manager. As one of Academy Mortgage’s top Loan Officers and Branch Managers, Bill’s life was about to take another important turn that would change his view of the world forever.

While many companies simply reward employees with gold watches and fancy sales conferences, Academy Mortgage encourages those who do well in their business to do good for a community in need. So in July 2011, Bill joined an elite group of Academy Mortgage’s top producers and headed to the small village of Secanquin, Guatemala to build a new water system. Working side-by-side with the local residents, Bill, his fellow loan officers and corporate executives got to see life from a whole new perspective. Bill reflected, “We think we work hard pushing a pencil around at our desks 12 hours a day. Nah. That’s not work. This…what these folks do all day every day just to survive—that’s work.”

Bill returned home with an even stronger commitment to serve his community and truly connect with every person he comes in contact with, both personally and professionally. Bill continues to grow and expand his team of loan officers, processors, underwriters and closers with a focus on professional excellence, teamwork and a sense of humor. Bill’s business expectations for his team are simple: Work together to provide every client with a great deal, and treat each customer with dignity, kindness and respect, no matter what their background or financial situation might be.

With the strong backing of Academy Mortgage Corporation and the advantage of having the entire mortgage process under one roof, Bill and his team continue to provide happy new homeowners and those refinancing with a smooth mortgage loan experience. Whether your loan is a VA, FHA, 203K or conventional, Bill and his team are ready to assist with them all. And in the process, you might even get to hear about Bill’s next exciting service expedition. It’s all in a day’s work for Bill Sohan at Academy Mortgage Corporation, dedicated to creating happy home owners one client at a time.
