Mussels are definitely an acquired taste. Their texture is a bit chewy but their flavor is definitely one not to miss. Simply prepared, the garlic and butter enhance the taste of the mussels.
2 lbs. mussels
1/4 cup butter
3 cloves garlic, minced
In a large sauce pan, melt the butter over medium high. Add in the garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant. Add the mussels. Toss in the butter and cook until they begin to open. Once opened, transfer to a serving dish. Discard any that do not open.
