It is so often that people say they don't know how to cook. It's too hard or they don't have the time. But really, cooking is easy if you have a grasp on the basics. Simple sauces, easy roasted vegetables, flavorful but easy soups. And this recipe, a simple pie crust. Having the recipe for a never-fail pie crust is perfect for any cook who wants to impress easily. A few simple ingredients, ten or fifteen minutes in the kitchen and you have a a great, flaky pie crust on your hands.

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. sugar
16 Tbsp. very cold butter
6 to 8 Tbsp. ice water

Combine flour, salt and sugar in the bowl of a food processor. Pulse to combine. Add butter and pulse four or five times until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. With the processor on low, add in water a tablespoon at a time until the dough comes together. Turn the dough onto a light-floured surface and knead a few times to combine completely. Refrigerate until ready to use.

Makes enough crust for 2 large pies.
