Chocolate Syrup

Feb 03, 2014 02:47PM ● Published by Cate Reynolds

The ability to make homemade chocolate syrup comes in handy when you've got a craving for chocolate milk. It's also an excellent ice cream topping and takes less than ten minutes to whip up.

Ingredients

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup water
2 cups sugar
1/4 tsp. vanilla extract

Directions

In a sauce pan over medium, combine cocoa and water and stir until fully mixed. Add sugar and stir until dissolved. Allow the mixture to come to a boil for about three minutes until it thickens. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Let cool then transfer to a container.

Makes approximately 2 cups chocolate syrup
