Get ready for Valentine’s Day a week ahead of time with some special, family-oriented events going on locally.

Homestead Gardens in Davidsonville is offering a potting workshop Sunday at noon for boyfriends, husbands and sons to make for their girlfriends, wives or mothers. The Country School in Easton will hold its 26th annual auction and dance Saturday at 6:30 p.m. The six-piece rock band Love Seed Mama Jump will be performing. There will be a silent auction with items ranging from sporting event tickets to concerts and even home décor. The auction helps provide funding for school program enhancements such as assemblies, back-to-school supplies, physical education activities, field trips and more.
