Fresh Mint Lemonade

Apr 30, 2014 04:00PM ● By Cate Reynolds
Lemonade is a quintessential summer drink. Why not jazz it up with a little fresh mint? The minty flavor gives it a nice cooling factor, perfect for hot days.

Juice of 3 lemons (about ¾ a cup)
½ cup sugar
½ cup water
1 cup mint leaves
6 additional cups of water

Combine sugar, water and mint leaves in a sauce pan over medium high. Heat to medium and allow sugar to dissolve. Muddle mint, allowing it to release flavor. Let the mixture sit for approximately 15 minutes then remove the mint leaves. Combine sugar mixture with lemon juice in a large pitcher. Top with 6 cups of water and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Makes approximately 6 cups of lemonade
