In celebration of the Friends Foundation’s Race Across America cycling team, the wines (and beers!) at this year’s event, held April 26th in Edgewater, had an American flare.

The theme “West Coast meets East Coast” offered a flight of expertly chosen wines by Mills Fine Wine & Spirits in Annapolis that paired well with the "Spring in Maryland"-inspired menu provided by Bowl of Cherries. The 80 or so guests also sampled beers - three from West Coast breweries and three from East Coast breweries - and even a small batch bourbon! Another fun addition this year: some golf swing tips and a chipping challenge by Mike Cummings, assistant pro at The Golf Club at South River.

The event, which raised about $3,000, benefited several organizations, including the Heart Health Foundation and Annapolis and Anne Arundel County Boys and Girls Clubs.
