Gunston’s Crew Team Advances to the National Championships

The Gunston School’s Women’s and Men’s Varsity 4 Rowing Teams captured fourth and fifth place respectively at this year’s Maryland State Championships hosted by Washington College on Sunday, April 27. Both teams have secured berths in the Scholastic Rowing Association of America (SRAA) National Championships Regatta in Princeton, New Jersey on May 23-24. The regatta is expected to host as many as 180 schools and 3,400 rowers will compete at the National Championship regatta.

Gunston’s Head Coach and former rowing coach at The U.S. Naval Academy for 11 years, Nicole Stimpson has been thrilled with her team’s season. “It’s been rewarding watching the development of the team this year, both fall and spring," she said.
