A standout in both softball and volleyball for the Lions, Milligan maintains an impressive 4.25 grade point average.

Her orientation into softball was playing the role of “mascot” for her older sister’s travel softball team. She’s loved the sport ever since.

Family is important to Milligan, who credits her father for having a big impact on her life.

“He is the most honest, hardworking person that I have ever met,” she says. “He has helped me ever since I was a little girl, from school to sports to learning how to drive, always having patience even when I least deserved it.”

That patience has been passed down and translates from sports into everyday life for her.

“Playing sports has taught me how to handle situations of loss,” Milligan says. “I’ve learned that losing is a part of life. I’ve learned to move past events that I can no longer change, learn from it, and strive to do better my next opportunity.”

When she’s not taking part in Captain’s Roundtable, National Technical Honor Society, the Bayside Breeze travel softball team or hitting the books, Milligan likes to hone her cosmetology skills on her friends and family. She recently earned her license.

Milligan will take her talents to Coppin State where she will play softball on a full academic scholarship. She aims to major in math and become a high school math teacher after graduation.
