#FashionFriday: Oh I Believe in Yesterday

Fashion is forever repeating itself and this season is no different.

Just in time for fall, we’re welcoming back the classic structures and clean lines inspired by one of our favorite style decades: the Sixties.

From chic shift dresses to tailored shorts, sharp blazers and fitted sweaters, the options for summer-to-fall layering are endless.

While summer saw vivid hues and graphic prints, fall offers a simpler and somewhat muted palette with plenty of browns, blacks, and creams (save for a few color-drenched dresses!).

Our suggestion to guard against the austerity that might ensue from these subtle combinations: add a splash of color with accessories—a simple camisole or even tights for those cooler fall days.

There’s plenty of texture to play with, too. Mesh, silk, and leather (or pleather for those seeking a more animal-friendly option!) are another way to add some excitement to an otherwise simple pairing.

It’s not exactly a step back in time—more of a nod to an era of edgy sophistication and fanciful grace.
