The Taste of the Chesapeake was held Thursday, September 18th at the Blue Heron Pavilion at Quiet Waters Park.

The sell-out crowd of more than 200 guests enjoyed live Bay-inspired music, a tasting of seasonal local food and drink, shucked Chesapeake oysters, and the annual Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay environmental awards presentation. The Environmental Leadership Award went to Luke Brubaker, who passionately describes and implements best management practices on his dairy farm in Pennsylvania.  

The Taste 2014 was supported by 50 sponsors and extremely successful, raising $130,000 with expenses totaling less than 10 percent of proceeds. The funds raised will be used to continue the momentum of the Alliance's community work -- to inspire, support and lead the restoration of local rivers and streams, throughout the watershed, that flow into the Chesapeake Bay.

The Alliance encourages everyone to participate in its 2015 programs, such as Project Clean Stream, scheduled for April 11, 2015, and the Taste of the Chesapeake…because “together we can get the job done!”
