Kitchen Tool of the Week

Grilling season may be over, but that doesn’t mean all grilling has to come to a complete stop. Sure, that smoky delicious grilled flavor might be missing, but a grill pan has lots of other benefits. For one thing, there’s tons of surface area. I love being able to cook nearly a whole package of bacon in one fell swoop. The ridges of a grill pan allow the cooking meat to sit above—and not boil in—it’s own juices (another perk for cooking bacon). Grill pans are also heavy and therefore cook food evenly. Lastly, a grill pan can impart those dark, crunchy grill marks, which look nice and are tasty. Using a grill pan is the next best thing to not going outside to use the grill, like for this week’s hamburgers. Black Friday and Christmas specials are just around the corner so now is the perfect time to grab a grill pan for your own kitchen.
