Canned preserves are an easy, delicious gift that anyone will love, especially when they’re packaged in cute ball jars and homemade labels like these. Gina McNay and Emily Mazza, local servers at Cantler’s Riverside Inn, got together at the end of this past summer and canned everything from peaches to sweet hot peppers. They used recipes from “Canning” by Liana Krissoff. If you didn’t have the foresight to make canned preserves months in advance like McNay and Mazza, give your friends and family freshly canned preserves so they can enjoy their vanilla peaches, pepper jelly, etc., come summertime. It will be a personal and truly enjoyable gift that keeps on giving.
