Grammy nominated comedian, Tig Notaro performs at Rams Head Onstage in Annapolis on Monday, January 19th
If you love to laugh, Tig Notaro and other comedians will be performing for your entertainment. Tig Notaro was nominated for a Grammy Award for her sophomore comedy album LIVE. The album sold over 100,000 units in just 6 weeks, which is unheard of for comedy albums today. LIVE covers Notaro’s experience fighting breast cancer with a sense of humor, “I literally got diagnosed just a few days ago. And this friend of mine, she was like, oh my gosh. I’m sure you’ve heard about these funny cancer greeting cards. And I go, whoa, whoa, whoa. You’re sure I’ve heard about funny cancer greeting cards? I was like, I just got diagnosed. I didn’t just go out and learn all about the subculture and start buying knickknacks. I don’t know about the funny cancer greeting cards. I just got diagnosed. I did not think I had cancer. I’m relatively young and healthy. As embarrassing as it is to say, I thought because my chest is so small, I was like, I don’t have cancer.” Notaro made this discovery while she was appearing in the movie, In a World, written and starring actress, Lake Bell.
Louis CK is quoted as saying that LIVE is one of the best stand-up performances he ever saw. Louis CK enjoyed her routine so much, in fact that he released the album on his comedy record label, Waterloo Records. Tig Notaro co-hosts a podcast, Professor Blastoff. She tours around the world filling rooms with laughter. She has appeared on Public Radio International’s, This American Life as well as Conan. Tig has guest starred on shows such as, ABC’s Suburgatory, NBC’s The Office and Community, HBO’s The Life and Times of Tim as well as Inside Amy Schumer on Comedy Central. Tig Notaro has proven she is as resilient as she is funny! Notaro performs at Rams Head Onstage in Annapolis on Monday, January 19th, Doors at 7p.m., Show at 8.pm. Tickets are $25.
