Kitchen Tip of the Week: How to Peel a Bulb of Garlic in 10 Seconds

Rhea’s Rundown

I recently stumbled upon this neat little trick while consulting the expertise of the Internet. I don’t know how this method is not a worldwide phenomenon, or at the very least how I’m only just now learning about it. Even after I watched the tutorial I remained incredulous until I repeated the procedure and saw it with my own eyes. So, for anyone else still in the dark about this I’ll clue you in. All you need to do is smash the garlic bulb with the palm of your hand to break apart the cloves, place them in a large mixing bowl, place another bowl on top of that bowl and shake vigorously. It’s really that easy. Don’t believe me? You can find this tutorial by Saveur at http://youtu.be/0d3oc24fD-c. Turns out they have all kinds of helpful tutorials worth checking out for a rainy day.
