Inside the Event: Treasure the Chesapeake Celebration

May 27, 2015 05:20PM ● By Becca Newell
The 17th Annual Treasure the Chesapeake Celebration returns this Friday for a wonderful night on the water to raise money for the Chesapeake Bay Trust and its efforts to restore the Chesapeake Bay.

There's no better indication of a good event than it selling out, and this one typically does so each year. Fortunately, some tickets remain available for purchase, but they probably won't last too long!

Read on for details...

The Basics

Date: Friday, May 29th

Time: 7 to 10 p.m.

Location: Annapolis Marriott Waterfront, located at 80 Compromise Street in Annapolis

The Details

What can guests expect? Guests will enjoy an evening filled with fantastic drinks and fare, including passed hors d’oeuvres, carving and pasta stations, and more! Adding to the evening's fun will be a host of casino games and lots of dancing! There's even a silent auction with some incredible bid-worthy items, such as a gift certificate to the Inn at Horn Point, David Hartcorn Photography portrait sessions, a Whole Foods gift basket, two VIP tickets to CBF's sold out Boatyard Beach Bash, and Taylor Swift's 1989 album, signed by the superstar! For a full list of items, click here.

Food and drinks? It wouldn't be a celebration without an open bar! And it certainly wouldn't be a celebration of the Chesapeake Bay without some of its finest bounty: freshly-shucked oysters. They'll also be plenty of other delectable fare, including carving and pasta stations - all complimentary, of course!

What about parking? No need to stress over where to park since valet parking will be available at the hotel. But, if you'd prefer to park elsewhere, there are various city parking garages within walking distance, in addition to ample street parking throughout the downtown area.

Are tickets still available? You can breathe a sigh of relief; there are still some tickets available! Tickets are $100 and can be purchased by clicking here. It's best to note, however, that this event has sold out in previous years, so don't delay in grabbing 'em while they last!

The dress code? No need to break out the formal wear -- business casual is appropriate for this event. Need some inspiration? Check out what guests wore last year in the photo gallery!

Where do the proceeds go? All proceeds from the event benefit the Chesapeake Bay Trust, a nonprofit organization that helps restore the Chesapeake Bay and improve local communities through hands-on restoration projects and programs. Fully 90 cents of every dollar the Trust receives is allocated to efforts to improve the Chesapeake Bay.
