Derby Day at Talisman Farm

Jun 02, 2015 05:38PM ● By Becca Newell

More than 120 guests enjoyed a beautiful evening at the Manor House and adjoining glass-top tent at Talisman Farm in Grasonville for the Fourth Annual Derby Day Benefit Party for Talisman Therapeutic Riding.

Guests sipped mint juleps served in pewter cups offered by Makers Mark, sampled bourbon tastings by renowned connoisseur Jon Vickersmith, and enjoyed a gourmet buffet dinner by Saucy Salamander. The event was packed with entertainment, including a dressage demonstration by Maryland Dressage Association member Brianne Reynolds and her mount Friesian Gelding “Hershey Kisses,” a TTR rider demonstration by the “Heroes on Horses” riders, and a live viewing of the Kentucky Derby! The evening also boasted a live auction led by Jaime Bush, which included exciting getaways, jewelry, artwork, and sculptures, and a fabulous silent auction with more than 30 items.

Thanks to the evening's presenting sponsor, Koons Toyota Easton, and all of the attendees, donors, and supporters, a total of $40,000 was raised. The funds benefit Talisman Therapeutic Riding, Inc., and its seven programs and camps.

Mark your calendar: the Fifth Annual Derby Day Benefit Party for Talisman Therapeutic Riding will be held on Saturday, May 6th, 2016.
