Compass Regional Hospice hosted its annual golf tournament for 20 foursomes on May 18 at Prospect Bay Country Club in Grasonville. The event raised more than $22,000 that will be used to provide hospice care and grief support for people of all ages in Queen Anne’s, Kent and Caroline Counties.

Placing first in the tournament were Marty Mitchell, Larry Stone, Tim Clark and Matt Spedden. The second place gross team included Hank Starkey, Greg Starkey, Chris Kelbaugh and Bo Oristan. Closest to the pin honors went to Kyle Poore.

“As a non-profit organization Compass Regional Hospice relies on the financial support of the community to ensure that we are always here for children, teens and adults who need us when they have been diagnosed with a life-limiting illness or experienced a significant loss,” says Executive Director Heather Guerieri. “We thank the golfers, sponsors and volunteers who supported us this year and Prospect Bay Country Club for their expert management of the tournament.”

Gold sponsors for the Compass Regional Hospice Golf Tournament were William J. Ogden and Willow Construction, LLC. Silver sponsors were Alan and Penny Griffith and American Legion Benedict A. Andrew Post #296. Bronze sponsors were Queenstown Bank of Maryland and Paula’s Fine Jewelry.

Putting Contest sponsors were Island Self Storage and Pixel, Print & Post. The sponsor for shirts received by each golfer was Friel Lumber Company.
