Inside the Event: The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society-Eastern Shore 2015 Man and Woman of the Year Grand Finale Gala

Jun 09, 2015 10:33AM ● By Becca Newell
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society-Eastern Shore 2015 Man and Woman of the Year Grand Finale Gala returns for its third year on Friday, June 12th.

The annual event marks the culmination of LLS' fundraising campaign -- a competition among a select group of local individuals to raise money over a 10-week period for the nonprofit organization. Each dollar raised counts as one "vote" and, at the end of the competition, the two candidates (one male; one female) with the highest number of votes will be named the LLS' Maryland-Eastern Shore Chapter Man and Woman of the Year.

Friday's gala is the perfect way to party for a cause -- help raise money for blood cancer patients, while celebrating the hard work and dedication of this year's competitors!

The Details

What can guests expect? An evening of food, drinks, and entertainment to celebrate the LLS Maryland-Eastern Shore Man & Woman of the Year! The event will include a fabulous auction, a fun photo booth, introductions of the 10 candidates (and the Boy and Girl of the Year -- local blood cancer survivors and sources of inspiration for competitors), and, of course, the announcement of the 2015 Man and Woman of the Year.

Food and drinks? Helping to get the party started is a three-hour open bar featuring premium liquors, domestic and imported beer, and premium house wines. A cash bar will follow. And no need to worry about eating before your arrival -- the evening will kick-off with delectable hors d'oeuvres followed by a sit-down dinner.

What about parking? There's plenty of complimentary self parking for attendees throughout the resort, however, if you want to skip the hassle of hunting down a spot, valet service will be available for a nominal fee.

Are tickets still available? Tickets are still available for $175 per person or $1,750 for a reserved table of 10. Tickets can be purchased through any candidates or if you're not supporting a specific candidate, you can buy your ticket via the online store. Additionally, if you're unable to attend the gala, but would like to contribute to the campaign, click here to make a donation.

The dress code? Black tie optional is the requested dress code -- whether you want to rock a more formal gown or go with a nice cocktail dress is up to you! Take a look at the gallery above for some style inspiration!

Where do the proceeds go? Between the campaign and gala, the goal is to raise $270,000. These funds will benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's research, patient services, and advocacy. Out of every dollar, 78 cents stays in Maryland!
