Take a cue from his tune and run out and about while proactively raising funds for the area’s best charities.

DECESARIS/PROUT JINGLE BELL 5K RUN/3K WALK

The Decesaris/Prout Jingle Bell 5K Run/3K Walk is designed to raise awareness for lung and ovarian cancers while raising funds for research. The challenging scenic run winds through the jogging trails of Quiet Waters Park on Saturday, December 5th at 9 a.m. Registration is $20–30. 37TH ANNUAL ANNAPOLIS STRIDERS ANNIVERSARY 15K RUN

The Annapolis Striders have been going strong for 37 years! The Anniversary Run is a double-loop course on paved trails within Quiet Waters Park on Sunday, December 13th at 10 a.m. The Annapolis Striders is a running club that promotes fitness and mental well-being through long-distance running. SANTA SPEEDO RUN & TOY DRIVE

The Santa Speedo Run and Toy Drive is a fairly new Annapolis tradition but a fun tradition, nonetheless. It always stops traffic! Don your speedo, holiday flair, and sneakers. Bring a toy or book and help make a child’s Christmas merry! Participants meet in Eastport in the tented parking lot of Blackwall Hitch on Saturday, December 19th at and run throughout Downtown Annapolis up to West Street and back to Eastport for a post party with live music and libations. JINGLE BELL RUN/WALK IN

The 2015 Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis is a fun festive way to kick off your holidays by helping others. Wear a holiday themed costume on Saturday, December 5th at the Holiday Inn Solomons in Solomons Island. Tie jingle bells to your shoelaces. Raise funds to help find a cure for arthritis, the nation’s leading cause of disability. Run or walk a 5K route with your team members and celebrate the season of giving. Registration is $5–40. UGLY SWEATER 5K

Gather your family and kick off the holiday season with a festive 5K on Sunday, December 6th. Come dressed in your ugliest holiday sweater and run through the campus of Goucher College in Towson. Cross the finish line and enjoy Christmas music while visiting with Santa Claus. All proceeds from the race will be donated to the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America. FOURTH ANNUAL ROCK HALL REINDEER STAMPEDE 5K RUN/WALK

Run to raise funds for Rock Hall Elementary School at the Fourth Annual Rock Hall Reindeer Stampede 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, December 5th at 10 a.m. Registration is $20–45. Kids 10 and under can participate for free. The flat course starts at the school and goes through the park and residential areas. After the race, enjoy food and refreshments.
