United Way's "Hope for the Holidays" program makes giving back easy

Join United Way of Central Maryland as they make the season brighter for area families in need. United Way’s Hope for the Holidays program makes giving back easy, below are a few last minute opportunities to volunteer or donate:

  • Make a monetary donation to provide gifts and winter clothing to families in need at  You can also text HOLIDAY15 to 71777 to make a donation.
  • Adopt a Family (Through December 18): Adopt a family and pick out special holiday gifts and winter weather gear to donate. Contact to get started.
  • United Way Partner Opportunities (Through December 31): Help a nonprofit near you that is in need of volunteers and in-kind donations during the holidays. To find more about opportunities in each county, visit
  • Winter Clothing Drive (Through the end of January): Consider running a new coat, hat/mitten or pajama drive in your organization, school or place of worship. Contact to get started.
