Hospice of the Chesapeake's Venetian Ball

Hospice of the Chesapeake’s Venetian Ball raised more than $700,000 to help support the many programs and services provided to patients and families in Anne Arundel and Prince George’s counties.

Held Saturday, March 19th, at the Hilton Baltimore BWI Hotel, more than 450 local supporters attended the event, most of whom donned masks with their gowns and black ties to honor the Italian masquerade theme. The evening included dinner, dancing, live and silent auctions, and musical entertainment by Radio City.

The special appeal portion of the program (amounting to more than $440,000) specifically supports Hospice's Caring for Life campaign.

The 2016 lead sponsors were the Creston G. Tate and Betty Jane Tate Foundation, The Wilburn Company, Greenberg Gibbons Commercial Corporation and the Baldwin Family. 

Additional sponsors included: Anne Arundel Medical Center; Baltimore Washington Medical Center Foundation; BB&T; John & Cathy Belcher; Tech USA; Whiteford, Taylor & Preston, LLP; Wooddell and Passaro Dental Group; and Zachary’s Jewelers.

Hospice's next fundraising event will be Fashion for a Cause, a summer fashion show, held from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Thursday. May 12th, at Porsche of Annapolis. Proceeds from this Hospice Hundred event support the Chesapeake Kids program. For tickets and information, visit
