More than 375 people attended the 12th Annual South River on the Half Shell Live and Silent Auction on Saturday, March 19th. Guests enjoyed an incredible spread of hors d’oeuvres, courtesy of Palate Pleasers, raw oysters, provided by John and Lori Orme, coffee provided by Chesapeake Bay Roasting Company, and live music by Starr’s Jazz Band. The auctioneer for the evening was Joe Gormley.

The South River Federation thanked individuals who have gone above and beyond for the South river Watershed. Lee Ann and Charlie Candon received the South River Hero award for their 15 years of dedicated and tireless service on behalf of SRF. Chris Gordon received the Volunteer of the Year award to honor his countless hours of work as a Citizen Scientist.

Held at Homestead Gardens in Davidsonville, the event raised more than $50,000 to further the restoration, monitoring, and advocacy work of the South River Federation, as well as to support its intern program.
