What's Up? Media always has you covered when it comes to planning a fun-filled weekend. The Nextival Music Festival has been moved to July 9th due to weather conditions. There are many places to celebrate the Preakness without having to endure this rainy weather outside. Below you will also find a good read on Anne Arundel County’s roots of American horse racing followed by previews of other local events taking place. 141st Preakness Stakes

Saturday, May 21st, 8 a.m. See the horses fly outta the gate at the 141st Preakness Saturday, May 21st at Pimlico in Baltimore. Seating options include the Grandstand and Clubhouse section, Infield, the Mug and Vine Lounge in the Infield, and the Turfside Terrace and Clubhouse Turn reserved seating.





Preakness Party at Dry 85

Saturday, May 21, 12:00 p.m.
Party with Dry 85 for Preakness all day. $3 Natty Bohs, $8 Black Eyed Susans, and a chance to win a $50 gift card for wearing the best hat. Watch the race on their flat screens in full surround sound.





CASA's Off to the Races!

Saturday, May 21st, 5 p.m. Now in its fourth year, CASA of the Mid-Shore’s Off to the Races is “the” spring party. Held at Hemmersley Farm in St. Michaels, this event promises beautiful surroundings, delectable offerings of gourmet food, specialty cocktails, fun contests, live music, and the running of the 141st Preakness Stakes races live on large screens.

Treasure the Chesapeake

Friday, May 20th, 7 p.m. 
The Chesapeake Bay Trust will host its 18th Annual Treasure the Chesapeake Celebration at the Annapolis Waterfront Hotel. An evening of delicious food, an open bar, live music, casino games, a silent auction, and beautiful views of the Bay. Last year's celebration raised more than $91,000 for environmental education and restoration in the Chesapeake Bay watershed.

Shake It Off For Oysters!

Friday, May 20th, 9 a.m. 
Join the Chesapeake Bay Foundation in cleaning the "homes" of the next generation of Chesapeake Bay oysters! Help restore the Chesapeake's native oyster population by cleaning oyster shells (called "shell shaking") by shaking off the dirt and debris so baby oysters can successfully grow on them. The Blue Angels Return to Annapolis


Blue Angels and United States Naval Academy Commissioning Week

May 20-27, Times and locations vary
The Blue Angels, the graceful group of six blue and gold F/A-18 Hornets will practice over the Severn River Tuesday, May 24th 11 a.m.–1 p.m. with a circle and arrival and a rehearsal at 2 p.m. Their full performance will take place on Wednesday, May 25th at 2 p.m. The squadron will then perform their annual Naval Academy Graduation flyover at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium on Friday, May 27th at 10 a.m. View the full Commissioning Week schedule here.
