Many local homeowners want more than just a beautiful home with modern, luxurious amenities; they also want accessibility to downtowns and all the exciting opportunities cities have to offer. In this issue of What’s Up? with Real Estate, we profile two homes that fulfill both criteria.

Stunning Downtown Arts District Townhome

Annapolis, Anne Arundel County

Last Sold/Price: $504,237 (2013)

Located in Annapolis’ West Street Arts & Entertainment District, this four-level colonial townhome features upscale amenities and easy access to the city. The first time on the market—the builder initially sold the property in May 2013 before it was even built—the townhome, which was listed on January 5, 2016, sold after 20 days and closed in April 2016.

Elaborately designed spaces create an atmosphere of absolute luxury. The open floor plan includes a rec room that leads to a rooftop deck and offers spectacular views of the Annapolis skyline—perfect for entertaining family and friends. The main-level glass-encased great room consists of a living/media room, dining room, and chef’s kitchen, which leads to a rear grilling and relaxation deck. The gourmet kitchen offers extravagant features, including a serving/bistro bar, custom storage cabinets, contemporary hardware, stainless steel appliances, and granite counters. A spacious upper-level master suite includes a walk-in closet and a luxury bath with granite-topped dual sink vanity and enclosed Euro-shower.

Exquisite architectural details, including hardwood floors, high ceilings, wide moldings, millwork, French windows and doors, and sculptural Calder-inspired ceiling fans, add a touch of flair. Abundant windows provide natural light, creating an open, welcoming atmosphere.
The exterior elements of the property are just as eye-catching as the interior spaces. The brick-front end unit townhome features a brick pillar/iron fence entrance to a covered portico and a brick porch. The property also includes a one-car attached garage.

In addition to its amenities, the townhome’s ideal location on West Street offers proximity to a variety of entertainment, shopping, and dining experiences, providing opportunities to enjoy the city’s thriving cultural mecca.

“This was a very exciting home to sell,” says Scott Schuetter of Century 21 New Millennium, the listing agent for the home. “It has been so much fun to watch West Street develop, prosper, and expand the connection to our wonderful downtown area.”

“This was a new construction home, and we had lots of attention from buyers during the process,” says Travis Gray of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, the listing agent for the home. “It went under contract several weeks prior to completion, which allowed the buyers to participate in some of the final selections. It’s a classic Eastport-style home.”

And, of course, the newly constructed home’s convenient location in historic Eastport provides accessibility to a vast array of exciting activities in the heart of downtown Annapolis, including dining, shopping, and entertainment.
