“Whatever happens around you, if it reminds you of your loved ones, be open to embrace these little hellos from heaven” – Theresa Caputo

At what age were you first aware of your ability to communicate with a spirit?

That’s a little tricky. From the age of four I can remember always seeing my great grandmother standing at the end of my bed. As I grew up, I thought I had the same feelings everyone else did. When things become weird and scary for me was when no one else was seeing and feeling the same things that I was.

Around the age of 28 I found out I had this unique gift to speak to everyone’s loved ones.

I believe everyone has the ability to connect with their passed love ones. It took me about five years to accept the fact of what I do here. I am a practicing catholic and knowing this gift was from god I was able to.

I struggled with it for a while wondering why someone would want to come to a medium. Why would you want to come to someone who can communicate with someone who has died? Unfortunately, when someone dies, we are left with these burdens and guilt. What we tend to do is beat ourselves up and these negative emotions don’t give us the time to heal.

What can people expect to see when they come to your show?

When I see someone come to the live show I want them to know there is more to life than the physical things and that their loved ones are with them, that they still have that bond that won’t ever be broken.

The great thing about the experience is it doesn’t matter where you are seated. I don’t want people to be discourage We created such an intimate moment that you feel like you’re a part of this amazing experience. I’m on the stage for about 10–15 min, give a quick speech and then the spirit guides me throughout the arena.

I stop and channel messages to whoever will let me do so. Cameras follow me around so you can really witness it up and first hand. I love the comments people will say. They will say they didn’t know what to expect, but what they experienced was absolutely life changing, even though they didn’t get read. I always tell people be prepared to laugh and cry.

Did you ever think you would have your own reality TV series?

No! Ha Ha. Not at all. Never. I never thought in a million years that I would be doing this. 15 years ago I couldn’t even leave my house because of my anxiety. Now, I’ll be touring for six weeks on a tour bus, leaving my family behind and healing souls across America. Challenging spirits not only helps people with souls of the departed, but with that spirit has also helped and healed me as well. It’s truly an amazing gift.

Do you ever ask yourself, why you?

I do. I have. I’ve asked that many times, why me? And what I really come to realize is that we all have the ability to connect with our loved ones. I think it’s also my personality, that I just don’t make a big deal. My family and I, we never have. I have an amazing gift, but I’m not different than anyone else. We’re all the same. I don’t question anything.

What advice would you give someone looking to reconnect with a loved one who has passed?

I always tell everyone to be open to spirit communication. If anything that happens around you, be open. I don’t care what it is; whether the clock is always at the same time when you look at it or you always smell something you’re not supposed to. Whatever happens around you, if it reminds you of your loved ones, be open to embrace these little hellos from heaven.
