Closure and Detour Needed to Replace Pipe One-Half Mile West of US 50 in Talbot County
SHA’s contractor will replace two deteriorating metal pipes carrying a branch of Wye River with a single reinforced concrete pipe approximately 40-feet long. To ensure safety while placing a precast headwall, the contractor may have to de-energize power lines in the area for a few hours. The local power utility will provide advance notice of any planned outage.
SHA awarded the $250,000 contract to David A. Bramble of Chestertown. Performing this work under a closure and detour will dramatically reduce construction time and improve safety for workers and motorists.
Stay alert and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Slow down and don’t follow too closely. Work Zone Safety is in Your Hands.
