May 30, 2017 02:55PM ● By Caley Breese

Get your groove on and come out and support the Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF) at the 12th Annual Bands in the Sand! Located on the water’s edge, this fun-filled evening will help raise funds to defend and protect the Bay. So bring your appetite—and your dancing shoes—and celebrate all night long!

The Basics

Date: Saturday, June 10th

Time:  5–10:30 p.m.

Location: Phillip Merrill Environmental Center – 6 Herndon Avenue, Annapolis

The Details

What can guests expect? Located on the waterfront, enjoy live music from bands like Mad Planet, Misspent Youth, and special guest Los Lobos! Sip and savor delicious drinks and a variety of mouth-watering food. Test your luck with a raffle drawing—one ticket for $25 or five for $100—and win prizes, like a scooter from Chesapeake Cycles or two tickets every month for a year to Rams Head on Stage.

Food and drinks? It’s an all-you-can-eat (and drink!) extravaganza! Enjoy fried fish sandwiches, jerk chicken sandwiches, pork kabobs, and even veggie burgers for vegetarian guests. Add a side dish like potato salad, fruit salad, or roasted veggie salad. And don’t forget dessert! Complement your meal with an assortment of drinks, such as beer, wine, rum punch, and sodas.

What about parking? Parking is available at two remote lots that will have access to a shuttle going to and from the Phillip Merrill Environmental Center. The main lot is at St. Anne’s School of Annapolis, located at 3112 Arundel on the Bay Road, Annapolis. The overflow lot is at Hillsmere Elementary School, located at 3052 Arundel on the Bay Rd, Annapolis. Another way to arrive at the event is by using Uber. If you are new to the driving service, download the app and get $15 off your first trip by using the code BITS2017! You can sign up for Uber here.

The dress code? Feel free to come in casual wear. Come prepared with comfortable sand-friendly shoes (or go barefoot in the sand!) along with a sweatshirt or jacket as the temperature drops and wind may pick up later in the evening. Don’t forget sunglasses and sunscreen as well!

Are tickets still available? Tickets are still available, but don’t delay in getting yours, as ticket sales will end on Wednesday, June 8th—or sooner if it sells out! Tickets are $150. Additionally, $85 from your ticket price will be donated to CBF and is tax deductible. Keep in mind that your ticket sale is final and non-refundable. You can purchase tickets at What’s Up? Tix.

Where do the proceeds go? Proceeds benefit the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.
